FAQs

You don’t need to have prior knowledge of men’s work, archetypes or psychology to benefit from Sovereigns Journey. What matters most is your willingness to step in with openness and commitment. However, previous experience in self-development, therapy, spiritual practice, or men’s circles can provide helpful grounding and may deepen your ability to engage with the material.
The health and wellbeing of our retreatants is our priority. We ask that you come with a reasonable expectation of being able to participate fully in the programme. If you have a medical condition, please let us know before booking so we can discuss any needs or adjustments.
Our retreats provide a supportive environment for men to work on themselves, which may involve exploring difficult emotions or past experiences. Staff are available to offer pastoral support and practical tools for coping, but the retreat is not a therapeutic environment and is not a substitute for counselling or mental health treatment.
If you have a mental health condition that is stable and you can function independently, you are welcome to attend. However, if you currently need support to manage daily life, or find close group settings distressing, this may not be the right environment for you.
The retreat is also not suitable for drug or alcohol withdrawal. Participants in recovery should be free from dependence before attending. If you are unsure whether the retreat is right for you, please contact us for a confidential discussion before booking.
Definitely not. The alpha male stereotype belongs to the Hero’s journey. In the Sovereign’s Journey we move toward deep, healthy, connected and empathic relationship to others where we develop ‘power with’ rather than ‘power over’ others.
The Sovereign’s Journey is open to people of all faiths and of none. The Sovereign’s Journey holds that beyond the conscious personality there is both a soul and a spirit that is our deeper essence. But the process work itself is entirely secular and is does not have any particular religious or spiritual affiliation. The Soil, Soul, Spirit retreat offers men an opportunity to reflect on their spiritual experience in whatever way that manifests for them.
The Sovereign’s Journey is open to ALL men.If you’re not sure whether it’s suitable for you, please send us a message via the contact page and someone will be in touch to help you decide whether it is right for your needs.
Yes. The Sovereign’s Journey is welcome to all men who are committed to pursuing their self-development and individuation regardless of colour, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or age. We embrace diversity of background, identity, and belief, and uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination.

Our retreat is held in a natural setting and involves camping and gathering in a raised yurt. The ground is uneven in places, and access to facilities requires walking across grassy areas. Because of these conditions, the site is not fully wheelchair accessible. That said, we aim to be as inclusive as possible. If you have specific accessibility needs, please let us know—we will do our best to accommodate (for example, arranging closer sleeping areas, helping with set-up, or providing support for entry to the yurt). If you’re unsure whether the retreat environment will work for you, please reach out and we can discuss details together.
